Amelia Lund, AMFT, Therapist

Amelia comes to JMCR with a passion for working with adolescents and their families. She has been trained in Gottman Couples therapy (level 2) and has attended several therapy-based workshops including, LGBTQ sensitive therapy, Play therapy, Mindfulness and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Amelia has experience with chemical dependency and has studied its effects on the family system. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and completed her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University. Amelia uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Family Systems Therapy as way to address key mental health issues. She also has experience in mindful practices such as breathwork and meditation. She believes in the value of learning how to communicate and uses techniques to increase vulnerability, gratitude and validation. She believes that healing and growth are a personal experience and feels honored to be able to be along on the journey with her clients.

In her personal life Amelia enjoys spending time with her family. She loves to cook, has two black belts and writes fantasy/sci-fi novels. On the weekends she enjoys board games with friends and hiking with her kids. She also is involved in the LGBTQ guild of Utah and advocating for mental health awareness.
