Dr. Amber Willis

Dr. Amber Willis, PhD, LMFT Clinical Director

Dr. Amber Willis currently serves as the Clinical Director for JMCR.  She has a PhD in Child and Family Development with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) and a Master’s Degree in MFT.  Amber is a seasoned clinician with over 15 years of experience conducting individual, couple, and family therapy.  She values a strengths-based approach, which highlights the positive talents and skills of the staff and clients with whom she works.  Amber has significant experience working with child and adult victims of abuse and other types of trauma.  She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is working toward certifying in EMDR.  She has a strong background in play therapy and play-based methods.  She loves to implement activities whenever possible to bring an element of humor and fun into her work with clients.  Amber is an approved supervisor through the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and is a published author of creative interventions for children and youth.  She has presented in multiple professional conferences throughout the U.S. on collaborative approaches to therapy.  Previously, Amber has worked as an instructor, teaching psychotherapy and practicum courses, at Argosy University in the Master’s Marriage and Family Therapy Program.
